Common questions

Answers about working together.

What is social and emotional language therapy?

It helps a person notice what is happening inside, understand a reaction, find accurate words, consider another point of view, and communicate more clearly.

Who do you work with?

I work with boys, teens, and men. I also guide parents when their involvement can help the skills carry into daily life.

Is this psychotherapy?

No. My work is speech language therapy focused on social and emotional communication. When someone needs a different kind of support, I will say so.

Where are sessions available?

In person availability is in Toms River. Speech language therapy by telehealth is available when the client is in New Jersey or New York.

How are parents involved?

When appropriate, parent involvement is a major part of the work. Every few sessions, we compare what is happening in sessions and at home, then plan how parents can support the same understanding and skills during the week.

Do you accept insurance?

No. Sessions are private pay, and I explain the fee before you begin.

How do we begin?

Start with a short call. You can ask questions and hear how I would approach the concern before deciding whether to schedule.
